Yes, once the owner of the collateral gives his/her written authorization to do so, then the collateral owned by the other can be used to secure the loan.

No, once the appliance is not owned by you or your wife/husband it cannot be used to secure a loan for you.

The Jamaica Defence Force Co-operative Credit Union Limited is governed by a Board of Directors, with the support of the Credit Committee and Supervisory Committee. Board of Directors

The Board of Directors provides strategic leadership and governance oversight for the Credit Union. It is responsible for establishing policies, guiding the organisation’s strategic direction, monitoring performance, and ensuring that the Credit Union remains financially sound, sustainable, and responsive to the evolving needs of its membership.

Credit Committee

The Credit Committee oversees the Credit Union’s lending activities and supports the responsible administration of its credit portfolio. The Committee helps to ensure that lending decisions are fair, prudent, consistent, and aligned with established credit policies, while balancing the financial needs of members with the long-term sustainability of the Credit Union.

Supervisory Committee

The Supervisory Committee provides independent oversight of the Credit Union’s operations, internal controls, and governance practices. Its role is to help safeguard members’ interests by promoting accountability, transparency, compliance, and adherence to established policies and procedures.
